International Buying Delegations, domestic volume retailers visit Khilona Fair, commend organisers on show

Greater Noida/ Delhi NCR– 19th August 2023 – The 2nd edition of Khilona-India Toys & Games Fair being held from 18th to 20th August 2023 at India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida Expressway is seeing many business visitors and exhibitor stalls catering to them with engaging products.

“Buyers in good numbers visited the fairs during the first two days and shared their interest in sourcing made in India toys & games, especially collecter’s items, sustainable lines and technology backed products. They have expressed their happiness at having a sectoral show with so much to see, learn, experience and source from. Robotics, products from new start-ups, heritage toys, younger group toys and learning & therapy toys attracted many,” informed Dileep Baid, Chairman, EPCH. Dr. Neeraj Khanna, Vice Chairman II, EPCH, added, “a delegation of buyers from Hamleys (buying and sourcing team), Amazon, Lulu International Mall, Reliance Retail, IKEA, Skechers and ITC group visited Khilona-India Toys & Games Fair and did business with the exhibitors. The buying team of these brands were happy and satisfied with the show and appreciated EPCH’s effort for organising this fair at this scale”.

Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Chairman, IEML shared, “besides direct buyers and brand representatives, the fair is seeing toy collectors and enthusiasts visiting the stalls with a lot of nostalgia and enthusiasm. While heritage dolls and handmade mechanised toys from yesteryears get their share of attention, miniature toys and collectors models are finding many takers. Thanks to technology and design innovation, these segments of toys are getting their facelifts, while retaining originality – all for image enhancement and a well-deserved global presence.”

R K Verma, Executive Director, EPCH, further informed, “knowledge, awareness and the way forward are significant for growth and futuristic development of industry. The Indian toys & games sector is heading towards its quantum international market reach and expansion. Specifically tailored for this sector, a Panel Discussion on ‘Made in India Toys Inspiring Creativity and Encouraging New-Age Innovation’ was held today with eminent speakers and domain experts who brought forth expertise and knowledge sharing towards a collective vision for the future. This was well attended by toys & games manufacturers and stakeholders.”

The Indian toy industry is among the fastest-growing globally, projected to reach $ 3 billion by 2028, growing at a CAGR of 12% between 2022-28. Domestic market size currently stands at an estimated value of $ 1.5 billion. India’s Toy Exports witnessed an increase from US$ 203.42 million in 2018-19 to US$ 325.72 million in 2022-23.
