Any dragon rider can tell you, the right outfit is the key to success. The same goes for any Halloween costume contest, and trust me when I say nothing slays harder than a House of the Dragon costume. Unlike other television-inspired outfits—ahem, your Ted Lasso costumes or Wednesday costumes—House of the Dragon costumes require a bit more work, only because the odds of you having a crown or dagger in your closet are relatively slim. Expert cosplayers will likely have high-quality, detailed House of the Dragon costumes, but those can be expensive and overkill for a one-night-only outfit. So if you're just looking for a costume to wear on October 31st and never again, you'll likely have better luck either DIY-ing an outfit or buying a pre-made House of the Dragon-inspired costume.

Viserys started the season of House of the Dragon as a kind, persuadable leader who then became kind of a creeper on his daughter's best friend and eventually left a kingdom in chaos after his death—but not before viewers got to watch him grow so old that his face was literally melting off his body. Or, at least, that's what it looked like, hence the gold mask and balding head—both absolutely necessary accessories for a good King Viserys costume.

House of the Dragon shows Rhaenyra both as a young teenager and an adult, so there are multiple costume options to choose from. But if you're going for a regal look, you have to go with her coronation outfit. She might not be sitting on the Iron Throne, but she's definitely not to be underestimated.

Prince Daemon is arguably the sexiest, most terrifying schemer ever to go after the Iron Throne. Spoiler alert: he killed his wife, seduced his niece, and is just an all around violent dude. All this to say, he'd make a pretty scary/great Halloween costume.
